popularity thinking outside the box

Note: please be nice, this is my first piece of public writing ever! Its simply my thoughts on popularity and sort of me trying to understand it when in the end all it does is cause divide amongst people who could work together for a better cause.
Warning: It can be a little negative but that's just my angry, sarcastic voice coming thought I'm not that angry of a person, trust me.
Also this isn't the way I view my school if anyone gets that impression (which they probably won't but hey just in case) its not like that at all this is just like a rant/personal opinion thing about popularity in general.
And above all else take these words and think about who you want to be not who everybody EXPECTS you to be. life's just simply to short to worry about that crap.

Popularity:

There I was again. Stuck sitting in a boring classroom full of what I considered to be a bunch of monkeys all performing tricks to impress each other. All so they could climb up that never ending, worthless social ladder that would inevitably end with them getting far too big for their own damn britches!

As you might have guessed by now, I’m not a fan of this stupid thing this call popularity. In fact it sickens me. I have no interest in being loud mouthed and downright disrespectful to teachers all in the sake of a cheap laugh. No. That’s just not me.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t consider myself higher than most of the monkeys in this school quite the contrary, actually, I think a lot of my fellow student could out smart me if they tried. But I suppose that’s just it isn’t it? They would rather spend their precious time on this earth, being forced to be friends with the “right crowd” rather than branching out and delving into an unknown Sea of possibility.

I think what gets me the most is that when you come down to it, we all think in a similar way. Remember when you used to or still watch those really cheesy high school movies where you root for the underdog, well I’ve never known a person who roots for the popular air head idiots in to those movies anyways. However my point is they root for these “losers” and yet in real life they are the popular idiots.

So this is my resolve. I don’t care if they call me fat, ugly , whoreish (if that’s even a word which it might as well be, yeah that’s right I’m talking to you, oxford dictionary with your bloody Twerk and selfie. I thought you had standards) I’m going to be me, just me.

Because no matter what, I know I’m a good person and my friends know I’m a good person and I will do my best to help those who need it that even includes you. Because I know for every person I shut out I’m losing someone new to call friend. And to me that’s just not okay.
